N K Sasidharan is an Indian writer, best known for his Crime Thriller novels in the Malayalam language.

Early life

N K Sasidharan was born in Kodungallur, Thrisur district in Kerala, on November 25, 1955, to T G Narayanappanicker and N K Sarojini Amma. He completed his primary education at RKD NSS High School Sasthamangalam Thiruvananthapuram, graduated from Ottappalam NSS College, Palappram, and post graduate in MA Malayalam under Calicut University. He began his career as a radio drama writer, AIR Trissur and Calicut, then relocated to Chennai and worked as Camera Assistant in Arunachalam Studio, Saligramam. After finishing 2 years as a camera assistant, he worked as a camera assistant with Nivas and Anandakkuttan on several films. After that he became an assistant director in many Malayalam films with well-known directors Dr. Balakrishnan, Gopikumar, Chandrakumar, Jesey, Sathyan Anthikkad, Priyadarshan etc. He has also written screenplay for the films Chuvanna Anki, Agnishalabhangal and Chakravarthi. In 1990, NK Sasidharan became prominent in the field of popular literature after the publication of his novel Raudram in Manorajyam Weekly. After that Njan Hiranyan and Curfew were published by Manorajyam Weekly. In 92-93 he worked as sub editor for Manorajyam Weekly.

Literary career

As a student at NSS College Ottapalam N K Sasidharan wrote many poems and short stories and those were published in various magazines of that time. His first Novel Marmarangal was published by Amina bookstall in 1979 and was republished in 2022 July 22 by Violin books. After entering as a thriller Novelist in Manorajyam Weekly he wrote more than 50 novels in periodicals. And after that those were published by various books publishers like current books, CICC, Sakhi Book club, Don books, Violin Books etc. Major works in novels are Pakida - It is the first novel in Malayalam based on Sakuni of Mahabharatha. It unveils another face of the epic figure Sakuni. Pakida was published in current books Thrissur in 2000 and it is republished by Don books, Kottayam in 2022. Neyvilakku – This novel is the tale of Ravana, it reveals another face of ravana as father of sitha. It was published by Current books Thrissur in 2002 June.

Kashmeer Kashmeer – Fictional Story of War between Indian Army and Extremists. The novel was published by Poorna Publicatins Kozhikkode, in 1995.

Poithu – This novel, based on Vadakkan Pattu, tells the strength and weakness of ficational character Thacholli Othenan. The novel also exposes another face of Kunjetheyi, lover of Othenan. The novel was published by Poorna Publications Kozhikkode, in 2000.

Kalharapushpangal – Collection of puranic stories, Published by Cornet Books Kottayam in 2015.

He wrote scripts for many TV Serials including Abhayam for Surya Tv, Seethalakshmi for Asianet, Guruprasadam for Surya Tv, and scripted and directed Mangalyappattu for Kairali Tv.
