Nagesh Chamle is an Indian badminton player from Latur district, Maharashtra. Born in 2006, he represents Latur district in state and national tournaments organised by the Badminton Association of India (BAI) and the Maharashtra Badminton Association (MBA).[1] He is currently ranked 75th in Men's Singles on the BAI national senior ranking list.[2]
Early life
Chamle is from Udgir,Latur district in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. He began playing badminton at a young age and progressed through district and state level competitions before competing at the national junior and senior levels.[3]
Career
Junior career
At the 1st Ashwani Gupta Memorial All India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament held in Chandigarh in January 2022, Chamle advanced to the second round in the Boys' Under-17 category, defeating Sumith AR 15–4, 15–7.[4]
He also competed in the Yonex-Sunrise 31st Smt Krishna Khaitan All India Junior Under-19 Ranking Badminton Tournament in September 2024. He won his opening round match against Aanayan in the Boys' Under-19 category[5] before losing to Abhinav Garg in the pre-quarterfinals 14–21, 21–19, 21–4.[6]
Senior career
Chamle represents Latur district at the Maharashtra State Senior Inter-District Championships. At the Shri Nandu Natekar Memorial Maharashtra State Senior Inter District and State Badminton Championship held in Mumbai in October 2024, he reached the quarterfinals of the Men's Singles draw.[7] In the quarterfinals, he faced top-seeded Varun Kapur of Pune, winning the first game 21–15 before losing the match 15–21, 21–14, 21–14.[8]
