From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Nagyal''' sometimes pronounced as Nangyal and also written as '''Nagial are a Jatt tribe found mainly in Rawalpindi District, Gujar Khan, Daultala, Jhelum and Gujrat Districts of Punjab, Mirpur District of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. They are also as Hindu Nagyal Jatt tribes in Jammu, SAMBA, KATHUA, [[AKHNOOR]] [[NOWSHERA]] kain Indian-administered Kashmir. There are a number of Nagyal families living in village Dhok Masyal Jhelum District.Only Hindu Nagyal Jats are found in Jammu, there are no Hindu Nagyal Rajputs. Hindu Nagyals never claim to be Nagyal Minhas Rajputs, nor do Hindu Manhas Rajputs ever consider Nagyal to be of their gotra (caste), nor do Hindu Nagyal Jatts ever consider Manhas Rajput to be from their gotra. As humans, there is love and brotherhood between the two. Both have different gotras, for example: - Manhas is of Kashyap gotra and Nagyal is a Jatt of Bhardwaj gotra.

It is known from oral tradition that hundreds of years ago there were two brothers named 'Naga' and 'Paga'. They were very courageous and brave. Due to some mutual dispute, they gave different names to their clans. The descendants of Nagi came to be known as Nagyal Jatt and the descendants of Pagi came to be known as 'Bhau' Rajput. In olden times, people used to settle from one place to another as per the convenience of themselves and their cattle. Due to some such geographical and other circumstances, the above Nagyal Jatts got displaced and got divided into many castes.  These castes came to be known by their lifestyle, for example, the Nagyals living in Chhimkariya locality of Chhamb came to be known as Chhimkariya Nagyals, those living in Gudanakka came to be known as Gudanakka Nagyals, those living in a place called Mola came to be known as Nagyal Molawale, those living in Nagyale came to be known as Nagyale Nagyals. Similarly, our community is called Riverie Nagyals because they live in Riverie village. Some Nagyals of Riverie came and settled in Veeraval, some in Mandyala and some in Chhamb. Basically, all three are the same. Some Nagyals from Veerawal, which is now in Pakistan, came and settled in Ambala at the time of India-Pakistan partition. They write the surname 'Nagra' with their names. Along with many castes, Riverie Nagyals also migrated from Chhamb after the India-Pakistan war of 1971.  At present, the Nagyal Jatts live in Jammu city and many border villages. The annual and semi-annual fair of the community is held in Kali Badi village of Tehsil Samba.

Nagyal : - Nagyal / Nangyal / Nagyala / NAGIAL, NAGIL, all are same, only difference is in pronunciation. In Jammu Nagyal is called NAGRA because Nagyal and Nagra are same. There is no difference, all are Hindu and Sikh, there is no difference between both, Nagyals do not marry in their gotra. Culture and language is same, all follow tradition of Kuldevta, and all are Jats. No Hindu is Rajput, and Hindu and Sikh marry each other. All are from Mirpur, Chhamb, Bhimber, they came and settled in Jammu, Punjab after 1947. When people of Ambala started writing Nagra. Then Nagyals of Jammu also started writing Nagra, so Nagyals of Jammu write Nagra after their name, like Nagyals write Nagra after their name, similarly Jats in Jammu have other gotras like:- 1 Dour - Dhillon writes

2 Thathaal - Randhawa writes

3 Pajal - Bajwa writes

4 Chedi - Chahal writes

5 Nadgyal - Nagokay writer

etc, all are Jatts and are from places like Mirpur, Chhamb, Bhimber etc. After the partition of 1947, 1965, 1971, they are now living in the border areas of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Akhnoor, Nowshera

Note:- Hindu Nagyal Jatts live in Jammu Samba, Kathua, Rajouri districts. All these Nagyals have come from places like Mirpur, Bhimber, Chammb etc. and after partition they are living in Jammu, Punjab, Haryana
