NaijaBasic is a Northern Nigeria music download Website and blog. They focus on music, entertainment and lifestyle and other media content aimed at African audiences.
Overview
The website was founded in 2012 to meet the demands of Africans to easily access new music releases from artistes in the country. The website has also enabled upcoming musicians to upload their own songs like Audiomack and SoundCloud in a subdomain referred to as Naijabasic Live. During the over 2012 stint of the website, it has grown rapidly to become one of the most talked about websites in Africa.
The site’s name Naijabasic has also been used to replace the word “download” among Northern Nigeria youths, e.g. “I can’t wait to get the Hausa Hip Hop album ”. Popular Northern Nigeria rapper like DJ Ab, B.o.c Madaki, ClassiQ, Hashim Zamah Neh, Morell, B.R, Mickey De Viper, Lil Akii M and Prince YD Nas, grew up using the NaijaBasic Website.
