VocApp (BrE /vəʊˈkæp/, AmE /voʊˈkæp/) is a multilingual online platform based on a freemium system, providing language courses and lessons available on the website and mobile phones (iOS and Android).[1] Currently, VocApp offers 413 courses in 29 different languages (English, Polish, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Dutch, Galician, Greek, Czech, Slovak, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Lithuanian, Hindi, Indonesian, Turkish, Georgian, Vietnamese).[2]

Mnemotechnics used

The app uses a modified Sebastian Leitner’s algorithm that consists in spaced repetition.[3] Considering the forgetting curve, the app knows when you are more willing to learn and when you are not, when you forget words and when it is necessary to show them again in order to reinforce the gained knowledge.[4] [5]

VocApp lets users study from professional language courses prepared by the VocApp team (native speakers and linguists) and from sets of flashcards within lessons created by the VocApp community worldwide.[6] [7] There are more than 36,000,000 flashcards and the number is still growing.
