Nancy Temple Rodrigue (born May 28, 1956) is an American author of adventure novels, largely known for her novels about Walt Disney in the Hidden Mickey series and her Hidden Mickey Adventures (series). Temple's novels were named top sellers at Disney D23 and the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.[1][2][3][4][5] Temple, a featured speaker at several Disney events,[6][7][8][9] is well recognized in the Disney community. Her works also include the Hidden Mickey Quests (series) of games that include quests finding Hidden Mickey's inside the Disney parks, in addition to a stand-alone fictional romantic fantasy novel The Fan Letter.
Career
After Rodrigue retired from her pharmacy career in 1993, she devoted her time to writing. Her success began with Hidden Mickey: Sometimes Dead Men DO Tell Tales!,[10] a novel that starts with a spirited Mouse Adventure road rally through Disneyland, her characters, Adam Michaels and Lance Brentwood, stumble across a long-lost diary of Walt Disney’s. The diary hints of hidden treasure and leads them on a wild cross-country search filled with discoveries – about the famous man, his life, and about themselves. Nancy then went on to write the sequel [11] and two more novels [12][13] to complete her storyline in this series. Recognizing that the Hidden Mickey (series) were primarily written for the adult and teen reader (age 12+), Rodrigue penned the new Hidden Mickey Adventures (series), to allow teens and tweens (as well as the adult) to also enjoy her novels.[14][15] as well as the new Hidden Mickey Quests (series) containing Quest-type challenges and finding Hidden Mickeys inside the Disney parks, to enhance the Disney experience. The paperbacks and eBooks have sold approximately 20,000 copies worldwide.[16] Rodrigue worked with co-author David W. Smith[17] in the writing of her first two novels in the Hidden Mickey (series), and fans look for them at Barnes & Noble and other book signings.[18][19]
Personal life
Nancy currently lives in Lompoc, California, with her husband of 19 years.
