Career[edit]

In 2010 she stood as the Liberal Democrats (UK) parliamentary candidate in the 2010 general election (UK) in Cities of London and Westminster (UK Parliament constituency).[5]

Smith was chair of the Social Liberal Forum[6] until 2016, having originally been elected co-chair in 2012.[7]

Naomi joined Best for Britain in 2018 as Chief Operating Officer and became Chief Executive in June 2019.[8] She was previously Executive Director, Campaigns at London First.[9] At London First, she led policy work and campaigns on housing, skills, immigration, Crossrail and Brexit, in particular campaigning for the Remain position in the 2016 EU Referendum. She is one of the co-authors of the Global Management Accounting Principles© launched by Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 2014.[11]

Activities at Best for Britain[edit]

Best for Britain has partnered with the People’s Vote campaign in public marches for a final say referendum in London in March 2019[12] and in October 2019. [13][14][15] In October 2019, Naomi led a delegation of UK MPs to Brussels to meet with EU leaders. .[16] In September 2019 her application to attend the Conservative Party conference was refused with sources suggesting that Conservative officials thought Best for Britain’s presence could have caused "mischief".[17] Under Naomi’s leadership, Best for Britain has undertaken notable voter registration and tactical voting campaigns for the 2019 European and UK national elections.
