Elyanara Almeida Fetiosa Bonfim (September 9, 1993 – May 21, 2018) was a Brazilian model and an internet celebrity. She was known for her Instagram posts.
Early Life
Almeida was born in João Lisboa, to a homemaker, who was unable to take care of her, as she was left with her maternal grandparents. Nara also worked as a maid in her teen years, where she decided to move to Goiânia, to finish her studies at her high school.
Career
She launched her own fashion brand in 2014, named Atelie da Nara, in Imperatriz, Brazil. She spent three years selling clothes through the internet. In 2016, she moved to São Paulo to pursue a modeling career.
Illness & Death
In March 2017, she suffered from pain in her stomach and started vomiting when she ate anything. Without a health plan, she paid for a medical consultation alone. In August 2017, she was diagnosed with Stomach Cancer, and she had three chemotherapy sessions, each of them lasting four hours. She started to share her illness on social media.
On May 21, 2018, Nara Almeida passed away at Nove de Julho Hospital, in São Paulo, losing a battle to Stomach Cancer after battling for only 10 months. The news was released by her husband, Pedro Rocha, on Instagram.
