Nasarudheen Elamaram

Nasarudheen Elamaram is a journalist, author and also state secretary of SDPI-Social democratic Party of India[1].

Nasarudheen Elamaram born on May 28 197 in Malappuram. His parents are Late V P Muhammed Master and Late K T Nafeesa.

He was an active member student organizations like KSU and All India MSF. From 1993 onwards he started working for National Development Front (NDF). He held responsibilities like area convenor, division convenor, state committee member, state secretary, general secretary (twice) and was also the state president and national committee member of Popular Front of India (PFI) for two years.

He was active in arts and sports during school and college and have won individual championships. He was elected as the vice chairman of Islahiya college union. Worked Institutions: MES Orphanage Edathala, Aluva Calicut Orphanage Kolathara Madhyamam Daily (1987–2001)

He spearheaded the formation of workers union of Madhyamam and the struggles by non-journalists. Dailies and periodicals like League Times, Madhyamam, Chandrika, Mangalam, Thejas, Kala Kaumudhi, Kerala Shabdham, Malayalam, India Today, Malayalam News etc. have been publishing his articles and interviews. He also wrote 'Prathivadham' column in Mangalam Daily for one and half years. He was one among the editors of the book ' Gujarat vamshahathyayude nerkazhchakal' published by Thejas Publications. Mainstream TV channels have aired his interviews. He worked as the deputy editor and executive director of Thejas Daily and also as its charitable trust secretary and the chairman of Intermedia company.

Social Work[edit]

Along with GROW Vasu and Moyin Bapu he took part actively in the struggles of Mavoor Grasim factory workers and was also one among its convenors. He was also in the forefront of struggles against water and air pollution on the banks of Chaliyar with its leader K. A Rahman and was also the general secretary of the struggle committee. He took leadership of the reservation struggles by Dalits and minorities like the one for implementing Narendran commission report . He worked as a driving force behind the reservation package which the government approved in 2006. He is active in various environmental movements against Koodamkulam nuclear plant, endosulfan, national highway, Mullaperiyar dam etc. and also in the second land struggle. At present he works as the national working committee member, national secretariat member and state general secretary of SDPI and is the editor of 'Voice of India'.
