TikTok video[edit]
Apodaca rode his skateboard that he kept in his car to work after his car broke down, and created the video of himself skateboarding along a highway in Idaho Falls, while drinking Ocean Spray cran-raspberry juice and lip syncing to Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams".[2][5] The video and song went viral garnering over 50 million views around the world.[6] As a result, "Dreams" skyrocketed in popularity, reappearing on many worldwide music charts.[7][8][9] Subsequently, Ocean Spray gifted Nathan a brand new pickup truck.[10]
Personal life[edit]
He was born to a Mexican father and a Northern Arapaho mother from Wyoming. He has two teenage daughters; before his fame, he was living in a trailer with no running water or electricity. [2]
Tributes and parodies[edit]
The original TikTok video has inspired many to recreate the clip. Some various recreations were featured in a television commercial for TikTok.
The CEO of Ocean Spray, Tom Hayes, recreated the video.[11]
