Nathaniel Jenkins

Nathaniel Jenkins (born September 3, 1989) is an American integrative physiologist and associate professor in Health and Human Physiology (primary appointment) and Psychological and Brain Sciences (complementary appointment) at the University of Iowa, and a Fellow of the American Heart Association.[1] He was recognised by the American Physiological Society as the Wang Young Investigator and Environmental and Exercise New Investigator of the Year.[2][3]

Education

Jenkins earned a Doctor of Philosophy in exercise physiology and nutrition from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.[1]

Research contributions

Jenkins' recent laboratory focus has centered on understanding the physiological and biobehavioral mechanisms linking early life adversity with premature cardiovascular and metabolic disease in adulthood. He has also made significant contributions to the fields of exercise physiology and dietary supplementation. Jenkins has published more than 100 scientific papers[4] and his work has garnered support from the National Institutes of Health and the American Heart Association.[5]
