Nation of Language is an American indie band formed in 2016 in Brooklyn by Ian Devaney.[1] The duo's debut single, '"Laudanum", was released in 2016.
History[edit]
Formation (2017)[edit]
Ian Devaney's original band, Static Jacks, had released their initial records and toured both the United States and globally prior to 2013 when their sophomore album was due to be released but stalled; Devaney returned to his New Jersey hometown and began experimenting with OMD's "Electricity".[1] This experimentation became the band's first single, "Laudanum".[2] The band released several singles throughout 2017 on the group's Bandcamp site.[3] They later toured with British group The Wombats in 2018.
