National Asthma Education Certification Board
National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) is a for-profit organization regulating the certification for the credential Certified Asthma Educator (AE-C). The NAECB was formed in 1999 by a group of stakeholders. The mission of the National Asthma Educator Certification Board is to promote optimal asthma management and quality of life among individuals with asthma, their families and communities, by advancing excellence in asthma education through the certified asthma educator ( AE-C®) process.
Certified Asthma Educator (AE-C)[edit]
The National Asthma Education Certification Board created the AE-C and modeled the credential after the Canadian Network for Asthma Care and its Certified Asthma Educator (CAE); the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators and its Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE); The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), Standards for Certification Programs and the National Organization for Competence Assurance (NOCA).[1]
