The National Doctors Forum (NDF) is an association of medical professionals in Bangladesh. It is the representative member for Bangladesh in the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA).[1] The association currently has a membership base of around 6000 health professionals.
The current President of the association is Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam.
History
The association was created by doctors and health professionals on 19 May 1989, and began with a membership base of 35 members. The founder President of the organization was Dr. Yousuf Ali. Initially, the representation of the organization was limited to the divisional cities and districts having medical associations. Presently, it has formal committees in all 64 districts of Bangladesh. NDF is working in all major medical colleges in Bangladesh.
Activities
The activities of the organisation include the following:
- Professional: Conducting Teachers training, helping members in career planning and development.
- Educational: CME Program, Journals, presentations.
- Socioeconomic: Medical Camps, Blood donation Camps, Relief donations
- Awareness: Seminars, Press Briefings, Demonstrations (Recent demonstration for humanitarian crisis in Gaza)[2]
