It covers empirical research on all aspects of anatomy. The society has more than 1700 clinical anatomists as members (as on December 2020). The journal is double-blinded peer-reviewed, Open Access, and publishes quarterly (print + online). NJCA intends to establish a high-quality, refereed journal of CLINICAL ANATOMY. The journal's full text is available online at http://www.njca.info. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive the final accepted version of the articles.

Its editor-in-chief is Kumar Satish Ravi (All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh).

The journal was established in 2012 and issues appeared quarterly.

Dr. Kumar Satish Ravi, Professor (Additional) of Anatomy at All India Institute of Medical Sciences is the present Editor-in-Chief of NJCA which was started in 2012 by Dr. N. Muthukumaravel as Editor-in-Chief who was succeeded by Dr. Ravichandran Doraisamy.

Dr. Ravi and his editorial board which is decorated with pioneers of the field aims to establish a high-quality, refereed journal of CLINICAL ANATOMY.

About the Society[3][edit]

The Society of Clinical Anatomists [SOCA] is dedicated to the furthering of knowledge in the field of Clinical Based Anatomy. The members of SOCA aim to bridge the gap between the Anatomists and the Clinicians and to explore new dimensions in Clinical Anatomy.

The Society of Clinical Anatomists was founded on 19th of July, 2011 by Nine Clinical Anatomists from Salem and one Clinical Anatomist from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India who all had signed as the members of the First Governing Body in the registered Memorandum of Association (By-laws Document).

The Society of Clinical Anatomists was registered with Registrar of Societies at Salem, Tamil Nadu, India under TN Societies Registration Act 1975. The Regn. no. of SOCA: 168/2011, Salem (West) dated 19th of July, 2011.

The number of life members in SOCA: 1721 as on December 07, 2020.

SOCA was inaugurated on 9th of June, 2012 at Hotel Ashok Residency in front of Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Porur, Chennai by the eminent Clinical Anatomist, Dr.Sudha Seshayyan who is the present (2020) Vice-Chancellor of the Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

The Society Journal of SOCA, National Journal of Clinical Anatomy (NJCA) was started in January 2012 at Salem, Tamil Nadu, India by the efforts of Dr N.Muthukumaravel who was the Founder Editor-in-Chief of NJCA. He indexed the Journal in Index Copernicus International and IndMed.
