National Paralegal College (NPC) is a private for-profit online college headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, focused on legal education. It is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission.

History

National Paralegal College was founded in 2002 by Director Mark Geller, Esq., founder of Legal Data Systems, Inc., and President Avi Katz. Its first class was delivered on June 2, 2003. The school introduced a synchronous learning format using a real-time audio/visual online platform. Initially employing only four staff and serving fewer than ten students in 2003, NPC served over 1,200 students as of 2020.

Academics

NPC offers a paralegal certificate, Associate degree in paralegal studies, and Bachelor's degree in legal studies or business administration.[1] All students complete four core courses: Torts & Personal Injury, Contracts, Professional Responsibility & Legal Ethics, and Legal Research, Writing & Civil Litigation.

A certificate requires 24 paralegal credits. An associate degree requires 60 credits (36 paralegal), and a bachelor’s requires 120 credits (45 paralegal). Both require at least 25% general education coursework. NPC offers general education courses in business, accounting, math, social sciences, and more.[2]

Content delivery

NPC delivers courses through synchronous learning with live, twice-weekly audio-visual classes on Adobe Connect.[7]

NPC's 100-level courses use custom-written online textbooks on torts, contracts, criminal law, constitutional law, wills, estates, and family law. These texts are also publicly available and cited by:
