Navy Safe Harbor Foundation[edit]

The Navy Safe Harbor Foundation (NSHF) [1] is a charitable organization dedicated to the sole support of wounded, ill, and injured Navy and Coast Guard Sailors enrolled in the U. S. Navy’s Wounded Warrior Program. NSHF ensures that every service member is given an opportunity for full recovery after a serious injury or illness by providing financial assistance, respite care, special equipment, transportation, recreational opportunities such as adaptive athletics, and other non-medical services. The organization relies on donations to carry out its mission. Donate Now

History and Overview[edit]

Navy Safe Harbor Foundation[1] was founded in 2008 by CDR Chris Decker, USN (Ret.) and is managed by an all volunteer board of directors. More than 6000 personnel have enrolled in the Navy Wounded Warrior (NWW) program and the number continues to grow. 39% of NWW program enrollees include those wounded in action, injured in training or liberty accidents; while 61% are suffering from serious illness. Over the years, NSHF has been able to support all requests submitted by the NWW program.
