Nazranaa Diaries is a U.S.-based reality television show about the Indian shopping experience of millennial brides and is broadcast on Indian general entertainment pay television channel Colors TV and online video-sharing platform YouTube.[1]
The show began when Shivangi Gupta, co-founder of Edison, New Jersey bridal boutique Nazranaa, convinced a bride to share her story with an online film crew[1]. The pilot aired on YouTube in 2015, and the series has more than 11 million online views.[2]
Filmed at Nazranaa, the largest South Asian bridal clothing store in the country, the show navigates the search for the perfect South Asian wedding attire in reality television-style, including a catchphrase: “Are you ready to be a Nazranaa Bride?”[3][4]
The show features brides and grooms visiting the store and offers a first-time look at being a newly betrothed Indian bride and the drama that often ensues during Indian bridal shopping.[4][5]. Couples retell stories of how they met, and family disagreements are frequently played out on camera[6][3]
