Nebtwister was an American noise pop band from San Francisco, California consisting of Sean Curran (later of Electroluxe and The Sickerthings) as singer, guitarist and songwriter, Justin Oberbauer as guitarist, Todd Sterner as bassist and Jimmy Paik as drummer which was formed in 1991. They were signed to the Tangible/Bomp! label created by Anton Newcombe of The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Sean Curran and Anton Newcombe were flatmates at 674 Haight Street at the conception of The Brian Jonestown Massacre. The initial plan was for Sean and Anton to play together but due to their personalities being too similar it was decided it was best that they each front their own band. Sean later formed Electroluxe, another shoegazer band, but this time with the addition of two females, Dianna James on bass and Tino Boo on vocals. Spencer Burton played drums. After Electroluxe, Sean formed The Sickerthings with Tim Ong of the Rosemarys and Spencer Burton. </ref>
