Neeva is an ad-free, privacy-focused internet search engine. Neeva search combines results from Bing[1] and other providers including platforms like Medium and Quora.[2]
Neeva has 65 employees and is based in Mountain View, California in the United States.[3]
History[edit]
Neeva was founded in 2019 by Sridhar Ramaswamy, a former senior executive at Google.[4] Neeva raised a $37.5 million Series A round in June 2019.[5]
In July 2020 Neeva launched to the public as a free beta release, but claimed they would charge a monthly subscription fee.[6] Later that year Neeva raised a $40 million Series B round.[7]
In January 2022 Neeva announced a free plan saying: "the freemium approach stands a better chance of getting people out of their Google habit." Later that month Neeva hinted they were entering the web3 space.[8]
Features[edit]
In addition to being a web search engine, registered users can connect external data sources such as GMail or Notion and make them available for personal search.[9]
Neeva also has a mobile app for iOS and extensions for browsers like Chrome and Edge that enable users to block web tracking services and manage cookies.[10]
