Neil Henderson FMedSci, Professor of Tissue Repair and Regeneration at the University of Edinburgh, is an academic hepatologist.
Research[edit]
His research defines cellular interactions and molecular pathways driving organ fibrosis.[1] He has developed approaches to understanding disease biology, establishing single cell RNA sequencing in his laboratory to define novel pro-fibrogenic sub-populations in the human liver. He has extended his work to fibrosis in other organs, notably lung and kidney, and also to understanding of mechanisms relevant to liver repair. [2]
Teaching[edit]
He is a co-director of Wellcome ECAT Edinburgh Clinical Academic Track-inclusive (ECAT-i) Clinical PhD programme, which provides structured guidance and support for clinical academic trainees throughout their training.[3]
