Nekadi

Nekadi, Nekadiya and Nekari (Devanagari: नेकडी) is a Royal clan of the Gurjars.[1][2][3] The families that belonged to this clan founded and ruled over the Princely State of Nekadi. They live in Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra and speak Hindi, Marwari, and Gujarati languages.[4]

Origin

A variety of scholars narrated Nekadis subdivision of Gujjars are the purest form of Gurjars of Rajasthan and, they are followers of Hinduism. They basically migrated from Mathura Uttar Pradesh to Rajasthan, they are Laur or Lava (Leva) Gujjars, and Chechis are a division of Nekadi Gurjars. They strictly follow their beliefs and do not believe in Inter-caste or Inter-faith Marriages.[5][6]
