Neko Ghost, Jump! is an action platformer with puzzle elements, developed and published by indie studio Burgos Games. The game was successfully funded on Kickstarter in July 2020, and released on Steam[1] and the Epic Games Store[2] in Early Access on January 11th, 2022. In Neko Ghost, Jump!, players control a cat with the ability to switch between 2D and 3D perspectives in order to overcome obstacles, as well as to leave its body behind and enter its ghostform to gain the ability to fight enemies.
Gameplay[edit]
In Neko Ghost, Jump! the player controls the cat Nekoman, with the objective of racing through levels full of enemies, traps and obstacles (and set in different biomes), in order to defeat the main antagonists space pirate dogs and release Nekoman's bride, kidnapped on their wedding day. Nekoman has several special abilities to help him in his adventure. The main one is his ability to switch between 2D and 3D: activating this ability makes the game change its perspective, switching from a side-scrolling platformer to a 3D platformer. This allows the player to overcome certain obstacles: for example, an insurmountable wall in 2D might be easy to walk around in 3D.
The game also presents the player with enemies they have to fight, and to do that Nekoman has to switch to its ghostform, leaving his body behind and effectively becoming a spirit. When he transforms into his ghostform Nekoman can use a spiritually enhanced swordfish as a weapon, as well as use several special and more powerful moves like area-of-effect attacks, jump attacks, and rolling evasions. The game consists of 40 levels in 8 different biomes, and also gives the player the ability to customize Nekoman with collectible items they can find exploring the levels. Finally, the game includes features for speedrunners, with global leaderboards to compete with other players for the fastest time.

Kickstarter[edit]
Neko Ghost Jump! began a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in June 30th, 2020, with a funding goal of $15,000. The game finished its campaign on August 8th, 2020, having achieved over $20,000, a 133% of its funding goal
Early Access release[edit]
On January 11th, 2022, Burgos Games released the beta version of the game as an Early Access product on Steam and the Epic Games Store. In the first 3 months the game received 4 major updates with new features and content.[3]
