Mahuma Neo Rapetsoa (born January 30, 2001) is a South African actress and social media personality.[1][2] She began her social media career in 2015, when she started uploading videos on her YouTube Channel. She has over 100 thousand subscribers on YouTube.[3]

She made her first television appearance as Funi in a Ferguson Films production Unmarried.[4] She went on to play Blessing on South African telenovela The Queen. [5] She is currently playing the role of Dikeledi on the SABC1's TV series Generations: The Legacy.[6][7]

Early life and education[edit]

Mahuma Neo Rapetsoa was born in Polokwane, Limpopo on January 30, 2001, to Mante Rapetsoa and Matome Rapetsoa, the CEO of Mahuma Group, a media and communications group of companies.[8][9] She grew up in a family of theatre makers.[10][11] Both her father and late grandfather, Mahuma Paul Rapetsoa are producers, writers, and directors in the theatre industry.[12] [13]

She is an alumna of the New York Film Academy.[13] After completing high school she enrolled at the African School of Film and Dramatic Arts (AFDA), where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Arts.[5]

Rapetsoa began posting on her channel in 2015.[3] She initially showed prank and challenge videos. Her content then consisted of lifestyle vlogs & entertainment videos.[14]

Rapetsoa has also collaborated with other South African YouTubers, especially Thato Rampedi. [15] Rapetsoa appeared in Rampedi’s latest production: Are YouTubed In? A YouTube reality-series that centers around the lives of young African content creators.[16]

Television[edit]

Rapetsoa’s television career began when she made a cameo appearance as Funi in the third season of a Ferguson Film’s production Unmarried.[4]  Following her debut, she landed a role in the Mzansi Magic telenovela The Queen. In the series she played Blessing, a god-fearing woman who is hired to run Noma’s restaurant but turns out to be a con artist.[5]  She is currently playing the role of Dikeledi nicknamed ‘Didi’ on the SABC 1 telenovela Generations: The Legacy.[6][7]
