Nexus Resort & Spa is a resort located in Karambunai, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. The resort was opened in 1997 and located in a 3,335 acres of land facing the Karambunai Peninsula.[1] Originally developed by FACB Bhd,[2] the resort has around 485 guestrooms, villas, eight restaurants and bars along with an 18-hole golf course.[3]

Issues[edit]

In 2013, investors of Karambunai Corp Bhd's has called the federal government to intervene in a property dispute over the resort that has dragged on since 2009.[4] The investors also claimed that the resort properties were ill-managed, an allegation that was denied by the resort operators.[5] In early 2016, the resort been offer for privatisation by Chen Lip Keong, who has a 68.46% stake in the resort property and offering to buy out the remaining shares and warrants of the resort, leading the Independent adviser Inter-Pacific Securities advised minority shareholders of Karambunai Corp Bhd to reject the privatisation offer.[6]
