Nicholas Blake Matthews (born July 28, 1988) is an American singer who is best known as the lead vocalist of rock band Get Scared, which he formed in 2008. He also runs a clothing line called Theatrics Appeal.
Biography[edit]
Early years (2008–2011)[edit]
Matthews was born on July 28, 1988 in Utah. He formed Get Scared, with Johnny Braddock, Bradley Iverson and Warren Wilcock in 2008 and they self-released their first EP Cheap Tricks and Theatrics. In 2010 the band went on Hot Topic's Sacred Ceremony tour with Black Veil Brides and Vampires Everywhere!. The band's first studio album, Best Kind of Mess, was released on July 11, 2011 through Universal Motown Records.
Departure from Get Scared and Blacklisted Me (2011-2012)[edit]
Matthews joined electropop band Blacklisted Me in August 2011 for the debut single "Reprobate Romance" with his now ex-wife Lexus Amanda and Samie Jayden. During the night of August 7, 2011 he attempted suicide, and was subsequently hospitalized after Craig Mabbit, lead vocalist of Escape the Fate called an ambulance.[1] On November 30, 2011, the band announced that Matthews was leaving Get Scared, they said he wanted to pursue more options in his musical career.
Reunion with Get Scared (2012-present)[edit]
After only a few months in Blacklisted Me, Matthews divorced Lexus Amanda. On November 18, 2012, Get Scared announced via a video that Matthews had returned to the band, replacing Joel Faviere. He has since released two studio albums with Get Scared: Everyone's Out to Get Me and Demons. He also started a clothing line called Theatrics Appeal in 2015.
