Nicholas "Nick" Efthimiou is a retired South African football player who played professionally for the Dallas Sidekicks in the United States. He is currently an artist living in Scottsdale, Arizona.
College[edit]
Efthimiou spent his freshman year with North Texas State, before transferring to the North Carolina Tar Heels as a sophomore.[1] He remained with the Tar Heels from 1987 to 1989, and played 25 matches in his first season.[2]
Professional career[edit]
After Efthimiou left college, the Dallas Sidekicks selected Efthimiou in the fourth round of the 1990 Major Indoor Soccer League draft, then released him during their pre-season training camp.[3] He signed with the team in 1993, whilst they were playing in the Continental Indoor Soccer League.[3] He did not play a game in 1993.[3] Efthimiou scored one goal for the team in 1994 before leaving the team after seven games.[3]
Efthimiou rejoined the Sidekicks in 1998, the year the team won the Premier Soccer Alliance championship, playing one game that season.[3] He retired due to health reasons in 1999.[4]
After football[edit]
In September 1990, Efthimiou started Never Say Never.[4] Never Say Never sponsored the Dallas Sidekicks official practice gear in 1998.[3] He is also an artist, and he donates the proceeds from his work to charity.[3]
