Nick (Nicholas) Magyar (born May 29, 1996) is an American ice hockey player. He is currently playing in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Kitchener Rangers.[1] Magyar was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the fourth round (93rd overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
Nick previously played for the Sioux City Musketeers in the United States Hockey League [2] as well as the Cleveland Jr. Barons youth program [3] in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League. He also played with Team USA at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics.
Kitchener Rangers
Acquired by the Kitchener Rangers in the 12th round of the 2012 Priority Selection, Magyar led all Rangers with 46 points in his rookie season, becoming the first rookie since Derek Roy to win the team’s scoring title. The Mentor, OH native was the fourth-best rookie scorer in the Ontario Hockey League and, with Ryan MacInnis, was the co-winner of the Rangers’ Rookie of the Year award.[4]
