Career[edit]

2003—2012 (Beginning): Tangorra began singing at the young age of 5 in early 2003. This all after discovering his grandfather (Anthony Marzigliano) ’s old records of his Doo-Wop group, The Gems, after his passing in 2003. Nick (5) (vocals) and his brother, Rafe (11) (drums) went on to join a Columbian Folk Music Group named “The Cumbia Kids” in 2003. They rehearsed in the back of a barbershop in Woodside, Queens, NY with their mentor, Foncho Castellar. As Nick got older, he began acting in numerous theater and musical productions all over New York. He also began posting original content and covers to his youtube channel in January 2010. There, he was noticed by American Idol Creator, Simon Fuller; Gossip Columnist, Perez Hilton; and Creative Director Jaime King; as they were on a search to create the next big boyband. However, in September 2012, Nick left the band to come home and work on his solo project; “Nick Tangorra.”

2012—2016 (“Teenage Love and Other Stories” & “One Step Closer”): In 2012, Nick released his first album “Teenage Love and Other Stories” which charted #20 on the pop charts. After hitting the road and taking some time to work on more music, in June 2015, Tangorra’s EP, “One Step Closer” debuted at #16 on the iTunes Pop Charts. That year, Tangorra went on to perform with the likes of Shawn Mendes, Meghan Trainor, and Fifth Harmony.

2016—2017 (“Boo Hoo”): In March 2016, Tangorra fully launched with his single, “Boo Hoo”. While in San Francisco performing at two nights of sold out shows at the Regency Theatre, he got the news his song hit over 100,000 streams in just 46 hours. The song went on to amass over 28 Million streams taking Nick’s career to the new level. He spent the remainder of 2016 on the road and early 2017 working in Los Angeles, California & Toronto, Canada on new music

2017—2018 (“Nothing But A Chaser”): Coming off the success of “Boo Hoo”, Tangorra released his latest single, “Nothing But A Chaser”. The song has currently been picked up by over 30 major Top 40 Radio Stations across Canada and the US (mid-heavy rotation). Tangorra also joined the social app, Musical.ly where he has one of the fastest growing pages in the history of the app with over 300,000 followers and 47,000,000 livestream likes in just 6 weeks

2018 (Upcoming Studio EP & Tour): On March 27, 2018, Tangorra departed for Toronto, Canada, where he began his extensive Radio and TV Press Tour. He has also hinted at his upcoming Summer/ Fall tour in Canada and the US.

Artistry[edit]

Tangorra has cited Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars, Gwen Stefani, and Justin Timberlake as his musical influences. Tangorra has mainly been described as a pop singer. Tangorra shared:

“Music is everything for me. It’s the air that I breathe.. It’s all of me and I put all of me into every song I create. When writing, I want to create timeless pieces… you know.. something you’ll want to listen to for the rest of your life. A fun pop record with incredible lyrical structure and infectious melodies you’ll never be able to nor want to get out of your head.”

Philanthropy[edit]

In 2008, Nick and his brother, Rafe, created a non-for-profit nationally recognized 501(c)(3) charity organization, “Rock Out Autism”; dedicated to improving quality of life and maximizing individual potential for people of all ages affected by autism spectrum disorders. This is achieved through raising funds that support therapeutic, educational, community, and advocacy programs worldwide with a special emphasis on raising awareness, acceptance and support through mentoring and new program development.
