Boyce led the successful campaign to reject National Union of Students (United Kingdom) membership and subsequently provided advice on the matter to Dehenna Davison and other members of Hull University Union. He was a regular contributor to the Wessex Scene and culture supplement The Edge. He collaborated with Tom Coole, now of Gloucester City Council, David Mendoza-Wolfson of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, and James Binns of New Forest District. Boyce was also a presenter on Surge Radio and an editor of the Soton Tab, alongside now Good Housekeeping editor Ella Rose Dove and Car Magazine reporter James Dennison. He was subsequently offered a HuffPost contract but opted not to join the publication.
Nico Boyce started the Beyond the Horizon podcast[3], focused on the Forza Horizon series of games, in early 2020. Following this he wrote for Sportskeeda[4] and Gfinity[5] covering Formula 1 and racing games. He also made an appearance on CBC Radio alongside Mike Brown of Playground Games discussing with Paul Karchut the impact of gaming on wider car culture.
