Nicolae Vasile (born 16 June 1954, Ludești, Dâmbovița) is a Romanian engineer,[1] inventor,[2] professor, writer, and poet.[3] He is currently a member of the Technical Sciences Academy of Romania.[4]
Education[edit]
Nicolae Vasile graduated from the Faculty of Electrotechnics of the Politehnica University of Bucharest in 1978. In 1985, he got his doctorate in electrical mechanics at the Politehnica University of Bucharest. He was awarded the title of Doctor honoris causa of the Valahia University of Târgoviște in 2009. He went on to further studies at:
- 1985 - University of Southampton, United Kingdom, Prof. Carlos Alberto Brebbia - Method of the frontier element in electrotechnics
- 1987 - New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, SUA, Prof. Raj Patrap Misra - Fiability of electrical components;
- 1996 - Istituto di tecnologie industriali e automazione. Milano, Italy, Prof. Francesco Jovane - actions with linear motors;
- 1998 - Hanns Seidel Foundation, Germany - management.
Career history[edit]
Research[edit]
Vasile began his research at the Electrotechnic Research and Design Institute (ICPE) in Bucharest, where he served as General Director from 1992 to 2005. In his applied research activity, he developed synchronic servo motors with permanent magnets. His main research concentrated on the first practical uses of the frontier element method for the distribution of the magnetic field in servomotors with permanent magnets.
Lecturer[edit]
Vasile lectured at the Politehnica University of Bucharest on special electric traductors and magnetic circuits with permanent magnets; Valahia University of Târgoviște: Technology of electrical machines, Economic strategy of technological innovation, project management.
