"Nightmare High" (Hangul악몽선생; RRAkmong Seonsaeng) is a Korean web drama series.[1][2][3][4]

The series featuring Korean boy band BtoB's Lee Min-hyuk[5][6][7][8] CLC member Choi Yu-jin[9],and actress Kim So-hyun[10][11][12][13], actress Seo Shin-ae,[14] and actress Kim Ji-an[15],and directed by Hyun Moon-sub.[16]

Plot[edit]

After the homeroom teacher in Yosan High School gets hospitalized due to an accident, a new substitute teacher, Han Bong-gu replaces him in the second and third classes.[7] Despite Han Bong-gu is seemingly well known to all other teachers, he is not on any staff list and no one knows the real identity of the mysterious teacher. During the series, strange events happen to several students in the classes after Han Bong-gu takes them to the counseling room, offering them to fulfill their deepest desires by signing a blood contract with them and giving them an enchanted item, but none of the students actually read what is the contract they sign, and they're late when they realize what was the price of their desires and they disappear into the void.[17] Class president Ye-Rim notices the disappearance of her classmates while her friend Sang-woo and the rest of the class don't have a clue about their disappearance. Ye-rim and Sang-woo start investigating the case and Sang-woo takes pictures about the clues and launch a gossip website about the investigation.

In the end, Ye-rim and Sang-woo get a text message about someone (Han Bong-gu) who knows where are the missing classmates are located: a special classroom, where the missing classmates look at them very strangely. Then the two get into the counseling room with a fellow teacher and the fellow teacher asks them to delete the gossip website, which they accept, then Han Bong-gu tells them to write apology letters for making the website. Afterwards, Ye-rim gets into the counseling room with Han Bong-gu, after getting caught investigating the special classroom, then Ye-rim gets into the "mirror dimension" [18] (where the other classmates gone), then in the real dimension she's replaced with her other reckless, and more sociable self who "visited" her before getting caught by Han Bong-gu. In the mirror dimension, she meets with her younger self who shows her that if she doesn't get out of the mirror dimension, the clone will replace her, then Han Bong-gu tells her that the "mirror dimension" is just a nightmare of her, then the two Ye-rims face-off and Han Bong-gu returns everything back to normal, while saying that the counseling is over[19]. Then, when Ye-rim awakens, she contemplates about the students being trapped in the classroom with their imaginations running wild, then tells Sang-woo that she feels like she just woke up from a nightmare but can't remember what was the nightmare. Then Sang-woo compares this how a wound heals and the nightmares are where the problems happened in reality get resolved. In a post-credits scene, the show ends on a cliffhanger.[13]
