Nilo Haq (born April 25, 1983) is a makeup artist, beauty blogger, and brand ambassador. She earned her reputation in the Middle East after launching her own beauty makeup studio by the name of iGlow Studios.[1] She has over a decade of global experience through her portfolio which ranges from Canada, the UAE, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, with brands that include MAC Cosmetics, Alexander Zouari Paris, and TONI&GUY. In 2011, she was made the brand ambassador for Unilever's Pond's Arabia.

Career[edit]

Nilo Haq initiated her beauty career[2] while she was pursuing a business degree at University of Toronto, Canada in 2004. Haq took makeup classes from a professional makeup artist in Karachi while practicing on family members and friends, and felt an instant connection with colours, faces, and brushes. Since then, she has taken one on one classes with industry best makeup artists including renowned Pat McGrath, the Ambassador of Max Factor, Nabila Maqsood of NABILA'S, Nighat Misbah, as well as top institutions like Illamasqua[3] and is certified by MAC Pro Certifications.

Haq's first beauty role was in Toronto, Canada at Faces Cosmetics as a makeup artist, soon after which she was hired by MAC Cosmetics in Toronto in May 2005. In 2008, she switched to Alexander Zouari Paris after her move to Jeddah. This was followed by a stint at TONI&GUY Jeddah as their Makeup Instructor and Senior Makeup Artist in 2010. In 2011, she initiated the first makeup course offered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at Dar al Hekma University in Jeddah and has given makeup lessons to women all across the country including Madinah and Dammam. It was in the same year that Pond's Arabia established her as the Brand Ambassador for Saudi Arabia.[4][5] On the sidelines, Haq has also worked with local brand Mikyajy and has been featured on their "Real Lives"[6] campaign.

Haq widened the scope of her beauty career by working as the Beauty Editor for Destination Jeddah[7][not in citation given] in 2011. In October, she co-founded the nation's first official beauty blog, Jeddah Beauty[8][not in citation given], and is currently working with Pakistani supermodel Mehreen Syed to launch a platform for desis called Desi Beauty Blog.[9][not in citation given]
