    History

In 2018, Huya, which developed the app, received US$460 million in funding from Tencent. Tencent, one of the Chinese internet investment giants, invests heavily in the Chinese market and owns shares in studios like Riot Games.

With this funding, Huya expanded the coverage of Nimo TV to several new markets and entered the Southeast Asian market in May 2018, successively launching in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Brazil.

As Huya enters countries outside of China, Huya is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and became the first Chinese streaming company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

The capital injection has expanded its business and generated significant numbers for its niche.

Up to August 2018, Nimo TV had gained 280 million registered users and more than 90 million monthly active users. Outside of China, the population of monthly active users of the app has exceeded 5 million, and the average daily viewing time of the mobile version of Nimo TV is 60 minutes.

    In Southeast Asia

The mobile gaming market is the focus of NimoTV, especially in Southeast Asia: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, ROV, Free Fire and other games content.

In the Southeast Asian mobile game market research report released by Newzoo in April 2019, the Southeast Asian game market will reach US$4.6 billion in 2019, up 22% year-on-year. In 2019, more than 67% of game revenue in Southeast Asia will come from the mobile side. According to AppAnnie's ranking of iOS and Google Play integrated game downloads in the first half of 2018, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand are in the top ten rankings. This is why NimoTV focuses on the mobile gaming market.

The Southeast Asian market is the first step for NimoTV. As the first step, NimoTV has produced a very good marketing strategy, cooperated with local famous media, sponsored some game competitions, and organized offline activities.

As of June 2019, NimoTV was ranked in the top ten in the application category of entertainment in Southeast Asia. This is based on the content of NimoTV. In Indonesia, NimoTV signed a very good local e-sports team EVOS and RRQ,

The Thai region has a high popularity of CGGG in the FREE FIRE game category. In Vietnam, NimoTV has signed a team that has a very good record in the PUBG category, including the highly popular anchor Mixi.

    Tournament

Nimo TV often runs its own tournaments within its platform, especially Free Fire, which brings together the largest streaming service community.

Here are some of the championships that have already been organized by Nimo TV:

CSCS: Free Fire tournament that occurs quite frequently on the platform. In September 2019, the 8th edition of this Free Fire Open Championship was held, which usually happens in just one weekend. There are 12 teams vying for victory in each of the four matches - so a total of 48 participants. The first three places win cash prizes. Also, there are giveaways from sponsors.

Nimo All Stars: The 1st edition took place in July 2019 and over eight days spread over four weeks. The 12 main Brazilian Free Fire streamers formed their own teams to play in the tournament. Participants were Piuzinho, El Gato, LOUD Crusher, LOUD Joker, Gideemsd, BlackN444, NANDA BELLISSIMO, TV Rafão, Slim TV, Hudson Amorim, Klain gameplays and Live Guth.

Elite Cup: The first edition of this Free Fire tournament was held in August 2019, bringing together three elite teams of pro players and pro streamers against nine teams formed by Nimo TV users. However, due to a scheduling conflict between the invited teams, the final had to be canceled. The participating teams were:
