Dr. Nirankar Singh Neki is an Indian physician and educator. He is a Fellow of International College of Nutrition (ICN), focusing on nutrition related medical problems. He is Honorary Professor of Clinical Nutrition with a diploma in Tropical Nutrition & Health from ICN. He also holds four fellowships of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh, London, Glasgow, Ireland), Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Royal Society of Medicine and American College of Physicians. Neki obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1986 from Government Medical College, Amritsar, Punjab, India.

Personal life[edit]

Nirankar Singh Neki was born on 1 April 1956 to Dalip Singh and Pritam Kaur. He is married to Jatinder Kaur. The family has two children.[citation needed]

Professional career[edit]

Neki has been working as a Professor of Medicine, Government Medical College, Amritsar. He is also Editor in Chief, Senior Editor, Editor, Section Editor, and Associate Editor of more than 13 national and international medical journals. He has participated at various blood donation camps across the country and has donated blood on as many as 50 occasions.

Neki has been a Visiting Professor at James Cook University Hospital in Durham, UK and at the University of Manitoba's Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences at St. Boniface Hospital Research Centre, Winnipeg.

Neki holds 13 different Oration Awards[citation needed] and has been a named author in 333 scientific publications, including book chapters. He has an entry in the Limca Book of Records of 2015 for being the recipient of four Fellowships of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinbourgh, Glasgow, Ireland and London). In total he has 38 fellowship awards with different institutes.
