Nishant Rathi
Nishant Rathi is an Indian entrepreneur and investor. He is the founder of the software company NeoSOFT, and the co-founder of Web Werks and DE-CIX India. He has also established NeoNXT, leads the NeoSmile Foundation, and serves as a general partner at Next Star Venture Capital LLP.
Early life and education
After completing his school at Bombay Scottish School in 1997, Rathi then earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from H.R. College of Commerce & Economics in 2002, followed by an MBA in Marketing from Nichols College, Massachusetts in 2004. In 2005, he completed a master's degree in Computer Science at Madurai Kamaraj University.
Career
Web Werks
In 1996, Rathi co-founded Web Werks with his brother Nikhil Rathi. Over nearly three decades, the company grew into a Tier IV data-centre operator with five carrier-neutral facilities in India and the USA. In 2021, Web Werks formed a joint venture with Iron Mountain, a global storage and information management company.[1] Rathi resigned from the board of Web Werks in April 2025 following its complete acquisition by Iron Mountain.[2]
Other Ventures
Beyond Web Werks, Nishant Rathi has been involved in numerous business and investments. He co-founded NeoSOFT Technologies, a software and IT services company, and NeoNXT, its next-generation digital infrastructure platform.[3] He also serves as a director of DE-CIX India, an internet exchange and interconnection platform based in Mumbai.[4] Additionally, Rathi is a co-founder of Next Star Venture Capital LLP, a venture capital firm supporting startups through funding, mentorship, and operational guidance. Since 2016, Rathi has served as Investor and General Partner at Next Star Venture Capital LLP, a seed fund for Indian technology startups. Rathi is also the founder of NeoSmile Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded in 2019.
