Nizám Mametaliyev.[1] (full name: Nizam Ruslanovich Mametaliyev) is a Kazakhstan performer of Uyghur descent, better known by his stage names Nizam DRedd[2][3] and DRedd[4]. He was born on August 1, 1989, in Almaty, Kazakh SSR, USSR. He has participated multiple times in online rap battles on hip-hop.ru and InDaRnB. Nizam gained the most recognition for tracks such as "Страха нет" ("No Fear") and "Грусти по-счастливому"[5] ("Melancholy in a Happy Way"). He is also the founder and owner of the "MNC Motivation" YouTube channel.
Biography
Nizam Mametaliyev was born on August 1, 1989[6], in Almaty. His father, Ruslan Mametaliyev, is Uyghur, and his mother, Anisat Mametaliyeva, is Lachin. From a young age, he was passionate about rap. He completed nine grades at Secondary School No. 69 in Almaty, actively participating in sports and attending competitions during his school years.
In October 2013, an arm wrestling competition was held in Almaty, gathering over 200 participants from different regions. Nizam secured first place, becoming the Almaty city champion in the super heavyweight category (over 100 kg).
After finishing secondary school, he enrolled in the College of Architecture, Design, and Engineering, graduating in 2009[7]. In 2010, he began working in videography[8] and later produced commercials for major brands like Toyota, Lexus, Coca-Cola, Visa and Abbot.
When starting his music career, he adopted the stage name DRedd[9]. According to Nizam, DRedd represents his inner voice. He gained recognition through social media, where his music was widely shared. Among his early works, the song "Города" ("Cities") became particularly popular. Over time, he became known not only in Kazakhstan but also in other post-Soviet countries[10].
Career
Nizam actively began his music career in 2007 with underground battle tracks. Before music, he was deeply interested in films, which ultimately led him to creative activities. On October 29, 2010, he performed live for the first time at a concert in his hometown of Almaty[11].
In 2016, Nizam served as a judge for the second season of the SLOVO: Kazakhstan[12] rap battle.
In addition to his musical achievements, Nizam also mastered programming languages, which allowed him to launch his own website, nizaika.ru[13], in 2008. The site remained popular for over a decade due to high traffic. Over its existence, approximately 65,000 materials were published on the platform, highlighting the project's scale and significant impact in its niche.
2007—2010: Start
In 2009, after meeting artists GMS and Offside, Nizam co-founded the group Almaty Legion with them. After the group disbanded, the Almaty Legion[14] name remained under Nizam as a label.
