Life and career[edit]

Early life (1994-2004)[edit]

Noah Daniel Hayden was born to Darrick and Jennifer Hayden on October 21, 1994, in Evansville, Indiana. He attended Evansville Christian School throughout elementary school and junior high and grew up playing sports with fellow musicians David Horner, Michael Powers, and Isaac Alling. During his first three years of high school, Hayden was homeschooled. He spent his senior year at F.J. Reitz High School.

Musical beginnings (2005-11)[edit]

In 2005, Hayden met Isaac Alling, Michael Powers, David Horner while attended Evansville Christian School. Mission Six was founded as "sort of a pipe dream". Hayden and the rest of the members began honing their skills at his father's church, New Beginnings Lakeside. A fellow attendee of the church, Anthony Barthel, joined as the band's guitarist. In early 2008[2], Hayden appeared on Radio Disney advertising for the release of Superhero. On July 30, 2008, the band released Superhero and began touring on TBN original series iShine KNECT.[3] In 2009, Mission Six signed with Provident Music Group to release the band's second studio album, Not Too Young.

Heaven Down to Earth, City Lights, Into the Unknown, and retirement from music (2012-15)[edit]

In February 2012, following the departure of Anthony Barthel, Lucas Ball joined the band, to release Heaven Down to Earth. In 2014, Hayden previewed the release of City Lights but instead kickstarted the JUCE TV series City Lights from their "City Lights" single. In early 2015, upon the return of pianist Isaac Alling, Mission Six released Into the Unknown. After the band separated that same year, Hayden announced his retirement from music.

Coffee production (2016-present)[edit]

In 2016, Hayden developed an obsession for tampering with coffee beans. While on tour with Mission Six, he became fascinated with the roasting of coffee beans. Hayden came to the conclusion that local coffee franchises provided an original taste that he felt should be accessible to everyone.[4] "The coffee at the new wave local spots blew my mind. I was tasting coffee like I'd never had it before. It was so light, sweet, amazing." Hayden said. In 2015 he founded Barber Bistro Coffee in the lobby of Roger's Academy of Hair Design. Hayden decided to found Barber Bistro Coffee in the lobby of Roger's Hair Academy's west side campus in Evansville, Indiana. After renaming the shop Proper due to a copyright lawsuit, Hayden moved his shop to the east side Roger's and began attracting local media recognition for the quality of his coffee. Proper was acclaimed as the "the third wave of coffee" in Evansville after Folgers and Starbucks Coffee expanded to Evansville.[5] In 2017, Proper expanded into the Eastland Mall and partnered with Comfort by the Cross-Eyed Cricket. Hayden also announced plans to open a location at downtown Evansville's McCurdy Retail.[6]

Personal life[edit]

Noah Hayden has two sisters and a younger brother. In the spring of 2016, Hayden married Taylor Utley. He currently resides in downtown Evansville. Although Hayden retired from the entertainment industry, he still enjoys playing music and singing. Hayden is a devout Christian and a regular attendee of New Beginnings Lakeside Church where he leads worship and serves as a part-time pastor. When Hayden retires from Proper, he plans to work as a pastor.
