Norman Cabrera is a motion picture Make-Up Fx designer, sculptor and Creature FX artist, He was born in Las Villas, Cuba on Sept 09, 1964. His family immigrated to South Florida in the late 60's. His passion for movies and making monsters began in the 70's at an early age. [1] Inspired by Classic Monster Movies, Star Wars, and the original Planet of the Apes series, he began creating his own line of masks as a teenager. [2] At the age of 20 he got his start in films with Oscar winning make-up artist, Rick Baker and would go to work on Harry and The Hendersons, Coming to America, Gremlins 2, Gorillas in the Mist, Men in Black 3 and more. [3] In his 35 years in the world of Motion picture FX he has contributed creature FX to dozens of films and TV shows including  Hellboy I & II, The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, Cabin in the Woods, From Dusk Till Dawn [3] and many more and worked celebrated filmmakers including Guillermo Del Toro, Quentin Tarantino, and Robert Rodriguez. [4] In addition to film work, he has also provided art direction and stage design and FX make-up for such noted musical acts as The Ramones, Danzig, The Misfits, Rob Zombie and Municipal Waste.

In 1989, Norma Cabrera received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Make-Up for his work on Beauty and The Beast (CBS).[5]

Based in Los Angeles, Norman Cabrera owns a boutique creature and SFX shop called Cabrera Monsters.[6] Norman's recent projects include creature and makeup FX design and creation for Guillermo Del Toro's, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Jason Reitman's Ghostbusters: Afterlife and James Wan's Malignant.[4] Norman has also appeared as a guest instructor for Stan Winston School of Character Arts[7] and as a guest lecturer for Make-Up Designory.[8]
