Northshore Jets Australian Football Club is an Australian rules football club based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland which competes in the SEQAFL Division 4 North .

History[edit]

North Shore first played senior football in the Brisbane AFL in 1999. After the 2000 reorganization of football in Queensland, North Shore played in the Pineapple Hotel Cup from 2000 until 2004.

Merger[edit]

For the 2005 season, Maroochydore Australian Football Club and Northshore amalgamated for mutual gain in the senior ranks. The club played in the Pineapple Hotel Cup as Maroochy Northshore and played finals in five of its seven years.

Demerger[edit]

Seven years after Maroochydore and Northshore amalgamated for mutual gain in the senior ranks, the former has severed the partnership and gone it alone.[1]

The decision to de-amalgamate was reached when Maroochydore held a special general meeting on 29 March. The new entity will be known as the Maroochydore Australian Football Club, or the Roos.

That was the name of the club when it folded at the end of the 1999 season, before its rebirth as Maroochy Northshore for the start of the 2005 season.

Northshore will be known as the Northshore Jets Australian Football Club.[2]

Northshore finished the 2012 season last in their first season as a stand-alone club.
