Founded in 2010, the Notre Dame Journal of International & Comparative Law (often abbreviated NDJICL or simply JICL) is a student-run, student-edited international law review at Notre Dame Law School (South Bend, Indiana). The journal publishes articles, essays, notes, and commentary that cover a wide range of topics in international and comparative law.

Overview[edit]

The establishment of the Notre Dame Journal of International & Comparative Law "coincided with rapid evolution in the burgeoning fields of international and comparative law."[1] Each year, the journal holds a symposium, during which guest scholars present on topics ranging from "From Courts of Sport to Courts of Justice: The Impact of International Sports on Individuals, Society, and the World,“ to "International Law and Economics” and “Terrorism After Bin Laden."[2]

Membership[edit]

The journal's staff consists of a seven-member executive board,[3] about twenty senior editors, and approximately thirty staff editors, most of whom are second-year J.D. students. The Notre Dame Journal of International & Comparative Law is the only journal at Notre Dame Law School to include L.L.M. and J.S.D. students on its staff.

JICLOnline[edit]

To commemorate its tenth volume and a decade of international scholarship, the Notre Dame Journal of International & Comparative Law launched JICLOnline in 2019, which serves as an online companion to the traditional, print publication. JICLOnline seeks to facilitate scholarly commentary of current developments within the realms of international and comparative law, allowing legal scholars from around the world to submit written works for consideration.[4]
