History

Nunn Media was founded by Matthew Nunn in Melbourne, Australia, in 2002.[citation needed] Nunn Media pursued a strategy of growth through acquisitions, purchasing Kruse Media in 2013.[1]

In 2018, the agency expanded internationally by investing in the global media network Local Planet.[2][3] The company lost the Spotlight Retail Group account to PHD Media in 2020, but in 2021, it strengthened its digital performance capabilities by acquiring the Alley Group, which became an integral part of the Nunn Media brand.[4][5]

In 2023, Nunn Media won the Melbourne Airport[6] and Bakers Delight accounts.[7][8] In 2024, the agency reclaimed the Spotlight Retail Group account, announced that its annual billings had surpassed $500 million, and expanded its offerings with the launch of the “Upfront” event and the “Media for Marketers” program.[9][10] That same year, Nunn Media was named Global Independent Agency of the Year[11] and received the Best Digital Innovation of 2024 award at the Local Planet Global Conference.[12]

In 2025, Nunn Media continued its expansion by securing new accounts with SunRice and Neilson Financial Services.[13][14][15]

Social activities

Nunn Media supports several charitable causes and campaigns, including a long-term partnership with YGAP on the ''Polished Man'' campaign to raise awareness about violence against children.[16]  The company also supports the non-profit network UnLtd,[17] contributing to initiatives such as batyr (youth mental health),[18]  Dolly’s Dream (anti-bullying advocacy),[19] and DeadlyScience (STEM education for Indigenous learners).
