Nur Nasreen Ibrahim
Nur Nasreen Ibrahim, is a fiction writer, producer and broadcast journalist of Pakistani origin, who has been engaged with various news and comedy shows on American broadcast TV. Nasreen was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan and then moved to Washigton DC, where she pursued her broadcast career. Nasreen works as a news producer Netflix’s political satire Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj and has also worked with Al Jazeera English show The Stream.
Education[edit]
Nasreen holds a degree in literature from Harvard University and was a contributor at the college paper, the Harvard Crimson[1]. Her early education was from Lahore Grammar School, Pakistan.
Career[edit]
In August 2018, Nasreen joined Patriot Act with Hassan Minhaj, a show that has won Peabody Award[2], and Emmy Awards[3], that premiered on Netflix in 2018. She is engaged with the show as a news producer[4].
In September 2017, Nasreen joined Comedy Central’s The Opposition with Jordan Klepperr, as a segment producer[5].
In 2013, she joined Al Jazeera media Network as a research fellow and later associate producer, contributing to Al Jazeera English show The Stream.
Literary works[edit]
Nasreen also writes fiction and has twice been a finalist for The Salam Award for Imaginative Fiction[6][7]. Nasreen’s work of fiction have been in Platypus Press’ ‘Shorts’ series[8], Specter Magazine[9], Salmagundi Magazine[10], The Aleph Review, Barrelhouse[11] and in The Gollancz Book of South Asian Science Fiction from Hachette India.
She has also written reviews and literary essays for Catapult[12], The Millions[13], The Collapsar[14], The News on Sunday[15], and other publications.
