ONEDUO is an American DJ and producer duo consisting of Mike Scimeca and Steve Georgilis. The New York-based-duo is well known for their original discography ‘Illusion’.[1], and official remixes for artists such as The Chainsmokers, Kiiara and Bumbasee.[2] ONEDUO's music has been described as electronic dance vibe with pop influence[3]
Background[edit]
Mike Scimeca and Steve Georgilis were both born in Long Island, New York. They met at a young age as friends before joining together in December 2012 to form ONEDUO.[4] Scimeca had an early interest in music, DJing at a young age. The idea of forming a duo came to mind after he expressed a strong desire to learn to art of music production, in which he called Georgilis to learn together. Georgilis has a business background and received his MBA from Stony Brook University.[5]
Musical career[edit]
ONEDUO released ‘Illusion’ in May 2017. They have played at music festivals including Electric Zoo[6], Electric Adventure, and Amsterdam Dance Event.[7]
In February 2018, they released a remix of Sick Boy by The Chainsmokers which was released by Proximity Music.[8]
In 2019, ‘Cross My Heart’ was released and described by Stereo Stickman Magazine as, "a gorgeously ambient and melodic dance backdrop."[9]
