Oakley Kwon

Oakley Kwon is an Australian actress of Vietnamese and Chinese descent.[1] She stars in the SBS series Hungry Ghosts.[2]
Early life
Oakley Kwon fled Vietnam at the age of two with her parents by boat. Along the way, the boat engine stopped working. The boat drifted at sea where they were intercepted by pirates.[2]
Education
Kwon graduated with a law degree before moving into acting.[3]
Kwon went to Australian National University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) in 2010 and a Master of Laws (LL.M).[4]Kwon studied screen acting with Elizabeth Kemp in 2017.[5] She participated in the NIDA Open Screen Acting Studio in 2017. [6]
Career
After formally commencing her acting career in 2017, Oakley has appeared in several Australian productions, including Homecoming Queens, Harrow, Neighbours and Danger Close: Battle of Long Tan. Oakley’s portrayal of Diane Tran in Hungry Ghosts is her first major supporting role in a television miniseries.[3]
Kwon stars as Diane Tran in the Matchbox Pictures TV miniseries Hungry Ghosts.[2][3][4]Kwon was nominated for, and won an award in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Mini-Series/Telemovie category at the 11th Annual Equity Ensemble Awards, for her role in Hungry Ghosts.[7][8][9] The awards were judged by the MEAA Equity National Performers’ Committee. [7]
