History
Ocean Records started out amidst the recent lockdown. A group of friends came together and decided to bring the broken world back together through showcasing some of the most talented artists throughout the globe. The group started with four members, with the leader being smilesforfree (Cameron Lawrence), who is a producer and DJ. The label is supported by three other members that control the designs, marketing and A&R.
The label originated from South Africa, Gauteng, Johannesburg but is involved with artists from all around the world such as Brazil, USA, Germany, United Kingdom, Mozambique and more.
The name of the label was created by the four members and it refers to the ocean, where the ocean provides us with fresh, beautiful and unique waves which relates to the unique music our label pushes out.
The label made its debut with their most successful song to date "One More Wood" by Tom Kenny. Played throughout the US and South Africa, the artist then made a collaboration with rapper KEEPMYSECRETS in which their second most successful song "September" was made.
