In September 2026, Ocean Telecom's technical reports contributed to triggering an official governmental investigation in Yemen. Yemen's Minister of Communications and Information Technology issued Ministerial Decision No. 26 of 2026, establishing a nine-member joint investigation committee into international call smuggling operations. The decision cited Ocean Telecom's reports, which revealed organised smuggling of international calls through Yemen's international gateway, causing annual losses estimated at $3–5 million USD to the Yemeni state.[2][3][4][5][6]
The investigation committee included representatives from the Ministry of Interior, State Security, and the Central Control and Accountability Agency, with a mandate to submit a full report within one month.
KidzoNet partnership
In June 2026, Ocean Telecom partnered with KIDZONET, an Abu Dhabi-based child online protection company, to introduce carrier-level content filtering into its EasySim eSIM platform. The product was described as the United Kingdom's first eSIM-native child protection solution, designed to align with Internet Watch Foundation and NSPCC standards.[7]
