Offeroftheday is a free to use price comparison website and search tool launched in the United Kingdom in 2005 which collects together all the best discounts from UK retailers.[1] One of it's main focuses is constantly updated information on the latest and best offers from some of Britain's leading retailers, providing a virtual "shop window" displaying discounts of up to 90%.[2]

Owned by Propersmart Ltd, Offeroftheday was originally launched in 2005 as a tool to flag up incorrectly priced items, enabling users to buy low and sell high before becoming a full price comparison website. During it's starting period, it promoted retailers in the Dixons group before adding Comet and later a number of larger retailers.[3]
In 2012, Offeroftheday moved into an office space and hired additional employees.[4][5]
In April 2013, a separate mobile version of the website was created.
In 2015, both the original site and mobile versions were replaced with a newer responsive website.
In 2020, Offeroftheday released an official Android mobile application, allowing price drop push notifications and a barcode scanner function.
Business Model[edit]
Offeroftheday provides a 15 minute price and stock check on products, with the latest update time being displayed on the site at all times.[6] It also allows users to add products to a "watch list", enabling them to receive emails alerting them to price drops on chosen items. It also provides a price comparison service, allowing users to compare prices on a product from a number of online and high street retailers..
