Ohio River Road Runners Club

Ohio River Road Runners Club (ORRRC) is a running club based in Dayton, OH, United States. It draws runners from across the Dayton area.

History[edit]

The club was formed in 1966 near Monroe, OH by Steve Price and Jack Muhurin who wanted to put on more organized races. The club's two oldest and consecutive races were first raced in 1966 and 1968 respectively. (Frostbite 5 and Marathon.[1][2])

The club is a non-profit registered in the state of Ohio[3] and is a member of the Road Runners Club of America. Its mission is to promoting running and supporting the local running community in the Miami Valley. It does this by providing over 30 low cost running events, providing financial support[4], and recognition of those that inspire others through performance or encouragement.

The membership has always supported the trail-running communities by providing a large range of off-road events.[5]

Club Marathon and Turkey Trot[edit]

At over 50 consecutive runnings, the club's marathon is one of the oldest in the world and the 20th in the United States according to the Association of Road Racing Statisticians[6]

The club's Turkey Trot [7] is the largest attended club race with over 9000 participants per year and was founded in 1978.
