Ojaswwee Sharma is an National Award Winning Film Director, Producer and Screenwriter. He is the recipient of ‘Rajat Kamal[43]’, Special Jury Award[44], for ‘Admitted[45]’ from President of India at 68th National Film Awards[46] by Government of India. His films and documentaries have received national and international recognition at acclaimed film festivals globally, bringing glory to India. Hugely appreciated and applauded, the docudrama “Admitted”, directed by Ojaswwee Sharma also won the ‘Best National Documentary’ by Films Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. Of India at MIFF 2022 Mumbai International Film Festival. Ojaswwee’s work has been recognized by the Media Federation of India in 2022 and Public Relations Council of India in 2021 for his work in films and instilling pride in the community through filming thought provoking, realistic and socially relevant films and showcasing them through public events and film festivals.
Ojaswwee Sharma is best known for writing, producing and directing films, documentaries and campaigns that are socially relevant and rooted to reality. Life and career[edit]
Early life and education[edit]
Born in New Delhi, Ojaswwee did his initial schooling from Cambridge School, Srinivaspuri, New Delhi. He finished his high school from DAV Senior Secondary School Sector 8 Panchkula. He completed his senior secondary education from DAV Senior Secondary School Sector 8C Chandigarh. He pursued engineering in Computer Science from Chitkara University (Himachal Pradesh) followed by an MBA from Chitkara University (Himachal Pradesh). Ojaswwee holds Post Graduate Certificate in Mass Communication from Panjab University. He learnt the art of film making by getting hands one experience in assisting on film and television sets in Mumbai.
Intermediate career[edit]
Ojaswwee served as Regional Manager from June 2014 – August 2016 at Haryana Knowledge Corporation Limited. With an academically sound background, he gave up corporate life to pursue his passion film making.
Breakthrough[edit]
Ojaswwee’ stories are transpired from real life incidents and events. He started his film innings with assisting on Punjabi films and television campaigns. Journey further took him to Mumbai where he worked on corporate films and television as associate director. In 2015 he founded Rolling Frames Entertainment (RFE TV) and started directing and producing videos for digital platforms.
He established Pinaka Mediaworks LLP in 2017 writing, producing and directing first short films Zubaan and The Last Date that got him recognition into mainstream Film festivals. The films proved to be a major game changer. He went on to direct Admitted which he started filming in 2018. A feature length documentary (description).
Television Career[edit]
Ojaswwee directed ‘Chaa Da Cup’[47] with Satinder Satti (2019) and Lucky Kabootar[48] (2018) which was nominated for Best Comedy Film and Best Film with Social Message at PTC Box Office Awards 2020. He directed maiden episode of Anpe Bande produced by Leostride Entertainment for PTC Punjabi.
In 2019, Ojaswwee joined hands with ASHI, HARYANA to direct Samarpan (description).
Affiliation and Alma-Mater[edit]
Ojaswwee is a member of Indian Film & Television Director’s Association , Indian Motion Pictures Producer’s Association, Screenwriter Association of India and a life member of Public Relations Council of India . He is an alumni of Chitkara University[49] and Panjab University.
Association with Sikh Lens[edit]
In 2019, Ojaswwee filmed ‘Chaurassi’ and ‘SCARS: After a 100 Years Of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre’ (2019 Documentary). He subsequently took on the role of Festival director and India Head for Sikhlens: Sikh Arts & Film Festival[50] (India Chapter) with three consecutive festivals in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
